Positioning & attack shapes
Rows, columns, diagonals, ranges, movement directions, and why geometry wins fights.

Every cat sees the board differently
Some cats attack down a row, some down a column, and others use diagonal or nearby shapes. Melee attacks reach adjacent tiles. Ranged attacks can reach targets within three tiles of Manhattan distance.
Movement is just as specific. Every cat has its own legal directions out of the eight around a tile and moves one tile per turn.
Build around the next turn
Line up an attacker where an enemy is about to move, place a tank where a dangerous attack has to pass, and keep your hero away from the queued shape.
